Dreaming of Sunny Days
These are quiet times for tourism in Iceland, but in Go West we are working hard to adapt to the circumstances. We are at the moment focusing on our tours for next year and making sure that we operate with 100% safety for our guests and our team. We now proud holders of the Clean and Safe certification from the Icelandic Tourist Board, which is given to companies that comply with the necessary health measures during the pandemic. Our team is excited about the upcoming seasons and we can not wait to meet new guests and show them the wonders of Snæfellsnes!
We love, even in our free time to try out new hiking routes and revisit old ones. Winter time can be especially rewarding as there is only a small window of light and the icy conditions, although a little difficult, are stunningly beautiful. here are a few photos from todays hike and this hike is available on our website as the tour SECRETS UNDER THE LAVA - GEOLOGY AND WILDLIFE HIKE
Join us this hike in the future in Snæfellsnes or another one of our fantastic mountain / glacier hikes on and around Snæfellsjökull Glacier.

Exciting summer tours on Snæfellsjökull glacier and the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Iceland .
Spring sunsets have finally come to Arnarstapi and both the mountain Stapafell and Snæfellsjökull glacier looked as if they were on fire. We do enjoy these days getting longer and cannot wait until the summer too!

Our Wildlife Tours in Snæfellsnes
THANK YOU all dear guests for helping us clean our beautiful area of Iceland whilst you joined us for an ecofriendly tour this summer.
We had a wonderful family join us on our new secrets of Snæfellsnes lava hike. They got to ecplore both above and below our spectacular cliffs, really giving them an insight into the secret geological history of the snaefellsnes peninsula. We drank water filtered through the lava pouring out hte cliff bottom, ate some chocolaty treats, saw seals and cute little puffins and even did some beach cleaning along the way. As a company focusing on ecotourism and protecting our wonderful iceland we try our very best to keep our area clean and it is fantastic when our guests join in too. Have a look at just a couple of the photos from that day and click the link below to see our other tours on offer.
Our favourite hikes are always the midnight sun summer glacier hikes up Snæfellsjökull! We had such an awesome time with this father and son duo, climbing in beautiful light up onto the glacier with amazing views over the surrounding Snaefellsnes National Park. If you would like to join us too and experience a glacier tour up to the mighty Snafellsjokull then have a look at the link below!
We took our friend and renowned Icelandic Geologist to check out the incredible Geology on our new hiking route and he was absolutely amazed! So amazed in fact that he wants to take other academics down there to show them this unique spot.
"In my whole carrier as a geologist in Iceland I haven't seen comparable things..This is unique." - Árni Hjartarson, geologist
We were rewarded with incredible conditions yesterday during a summit hike to the top of Snæfellsjökull Glacier. Our 5 great guests had awesome views of Snæfellsnes the whole time and on the way down the wind increased from the west making the craziest cloud formations we have seen for a long time on the glacier!
